If you have a larger list to import, adding tags during the import process can save you a lot of time.
Step 1: Prepare Your CSV File (from outside the platform)
- Ensure your contacts are organized in a Comma-Separated Values (CSV) format. This can be easily done using spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Step 2: Navigate to the Import Section (in the platform)

- Go to the “CRM” section of your dashboard.
- Click on « Contacts« .
- Click on the “Import Contacts” button.
Step 3: Upload Your CSV File
- Click on “Choose CSV file with contacts” and select your prepared CSV file (the file type or file kind will be: « CSV File » or « CSV Document« , or you can see your document name’s ending with the extension: « .csv« ).
Step 4: Set Delimiter Options
- Specify the delimiter used in your CSV file. The default is a comma, but you can select other options if necessary. In other words, the delimiter is the character that is used to separate one value from another.
I.e.: « value 1 value 2 » are considered one value no matter which delimiter has been used – « value 1, value 2 » are considered two values if the delimiter is set to comma (one value if set to semicolon) – « value 1; value 2 » are considered two values if the delimiter is set to semicolon (one value if set to comma).
Step 5: Assign Tags During Import
- As you proceed with the import, you’ll have the option to assign tags to all imported contacts.
- Simply enter the tags you want to apply. This will ensure all imported contacts are categorized correctly from the start (note that you need to have created your tags into your Systeme.io account as outlined in « Step 0 » to be able to use them).
Step 6: Match Your Fields
- Systeme.io will display a preview of your data. Here, match the fields in your CSV file (like Email, First Name, Last Name) with the corresponding fields in Systeme.io.
- Ensure that the tag field is also correctly mapped if you added tags in your CSV.
Step 7: Complete the Import
